ECHA seeks comments and evidence concerning the establishment of occupational exposure limits (OELs) for Ethylene dibromide (EDB) or 1,2-Dibromoethane, a Category 1B Carcinogen. This call, supplementary to ECHA's OEL scientific report consultation, aims to evaluate exposure to EDB and consider options for airborne OELs and other limit values. The evaluation supports regulatory efforts under Directive 2004/37/EC to protect workers from chemical risks. Interested parties are invited to provide scientific information on various aspects including uses, exposure, health effects, toxicology, and epidemiology. Contributions from industry, academia, NGOs, and other stakeholders are encouraged. The gathered data will inform the scientific report, aiding the establishment of OELs at the EU level. Consultation ends on 12th August, 2024.
