The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has showcased intentions to update the classifications Acetyl Hexamethyl Tetralin under the CMR (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, and Reprotoxic) categories. This proposals come from Germany, with classification deadlines set for 1st August 2024. If classified as CMR substances, this ingredients will require comprehensive safety data submissions under Article 15 of the UK and EU Cosmetics Regulations to continue its use in cosmetics. The Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Perfumery Association (CTPA) is currently seeking company comments to defend these ingredients to potentially secure their status in Annex III of the Cosmetics Regulation. Interested parties should contact CTPA by May 8, 2024.
