Russian authorities have implemented new regulations imposing penalties on those involved in the unauthorized production and sale of tobacco products without a license. The new Administrative Violations Code of the Russian Federation outlines fines ranging from 150,000 to 300,000 rubles, with disqualification for up to three years and the possibility of confiscation of products, equipment, and materials. Legal entities may face fines of 300,000 to 1,000,000 rubles, or suspension of activities for 60 to 90 days. Fines may also be imposed for individuals involved in illegal manufacture or sale of tobacco products. The maximum look-back period for administrative penalties is one year.
