On 18 May 2026 European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) updated its Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP) database, expanding the inventory to 422 unique substances and entries under evaluation within the European Union’s REACH regulatory framework. CoRAP is a key mechanism used by EU Member States to assess substances that may pose potential risks to human health or the environment and to determine whether further regulatory action is necessary. The database includes chemicals identified for concerns such as carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, reproductive toxicity (CMR), persistence, bioaccumulation, environmental exposure, and widespread industrial or consumer use. Examples of substances listed include 1) Formaldehyde 2) Shale Oil Bitumen 3) Diethyl methyl benzenediamine 4) 3-trimethoxysilylpropyl methacrylate 5) 1,3,5-Tris(oxiran-2-ylmethyl)-1,3,5-triazinane-2,4,6-trione(TGIC) Several fluorinated compounds and reaction-mass substances are also included due to concerns regarding persistence and environmental accumulation. Each substance entry identifies the evaluating Member State, year of evaluation, grounds for concern, and assessment status. The updated CoRAP database enhances transparency in chemical risk evaluation and supports regulatory decision-making across the European Union. The information helps authorities, manufacturers, and stakeholders monitor substances requiring further investigation and risk management measures under REACH legislation.
