Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued guidelines on the use of its new “eSumbong” platform, a digital reporting system launched through the agency’s updated official website on 6 May 2026.

The eSumbong system was developed to streamline the submission and management of complaints and regulatory concerns related to FDA-regulated products and establishments. The platform supports market surveillance activities by enabling stakeholders to report suspected counterfeit products, unlicensed establishments, and corruption-related concerns through a centralized and category-specific reporting mechanism.

According to the FDA, the platform is intended to improve transparency, accountability, and enforcement efficiency by prioritizing high-impact reports and facilitating timely regulatory action. The guidelines also outline the scope of reportable issues, workflow procedures, system limitations, and user instructions to ensure submissions are processed in a structured and efficient manner.

The initiative forms part of the Philippine FDA’s broader efforts to strengthen institutional integrity and enhance public participation in regulatory monitoring and compliance activities.
