The French Government has released a draft Decree to the EU Technical Regulation Information System (TRIS) aimed at establishing a new framework for labelling requirements for cosmetic products sold in bulk. The aim is to minimize product safety information gaps, including allergy risks and storage conditions. The decree requires that labelling information, as per Article 19 of the EU Cosmetic Products Regulation, be made visible and legible to purchasers, including electronic means. This applies to cosmetic products sold without pre-packaging, packaged at the point of sale, or pre-packaged for immediate sale.
The TRIS notification is open for comments until 22 February 2024.
