The 7th plenary meeting of the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) which is on 27 March 2024, Luxembourg (hybrid meeting) will focus on cosmetics regulation and safety, with a particular emphasis on new and draft mandates for certain chemicals and ingredients. The meeting will discuss the evaluation and potential regulation of three chemical compounds: Ethyl Tafluprostamide (DDDE), Methylamido-Dihydro-Noralfaprostal (MDN), and Isopropyl Cloprostenate (IPCP), which are under scrutiny for their safety profiles and regulatory compliance. The meeting will also address the safety of children exposed to Salicylic acid and Butylparaben, two colorants, and the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety's (SCCS) responses to comments on previous opinions, particularly regarding Aluminium and Benzophenone-4. The meeting will also discuss draft opinions on other ingredients and nanomaterials.
