Urgently required actions to modify EU FCM regulations from ANEC based on Inadequate chemical requirements in Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 on Food Contact Materials continue to pose dangers to consumer health and the proper operation of the internal market.

Framework for food-contact items may be achieved by the following actions:

  • The number of chemicals and materials requiring examination must be drastically decreased in the future.
  • Commissional authorization,
  • Authorisations should be granted only to the applicant and only for a specific use

ANEC contributions in support of certain consultation questions are provided, along with the responses. Important subjects are enumerated below;
