European Commission Bring the Regulation to Prohibiting the Use of Bisphenol A in Food Contact Materials and Articles

"The Regulation prohibits using bisphenol A (BPA) in food contact materials and articles, including adhesives, rubbers, ion-exchange resins, plastics, printing inks, silicones, varnishes, and coatings. It allows BPA use in two specific food contact applications but prohibits BPA migration into food. The Regulation also prohibits the residual presence of bisphenols or bisphenol derivatives in food contact materials and articles. The notification was published on July 1, 2024 and is open for receiving public opinion till August 13, 2024."
