Japanese imports of poultry meat and egg products from the Belgian province of Liège have been halted.

MAFF (The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries), Japan has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from the Province of Liège in Belgium, including those shipped through third countries, since 12 October 2022, in order to prevent the introduction of the High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into the country.
