The responsibility for identifying, preventing, reducing, or eliminating the cause of the risk associated with the contaminants is covered by this regulation, along with the limit levels for certain contaminants in food. Nitrates, mycotoxins, heavy metals, 3-monochloropropanediol (3-MCPD), 3-MCPD fatty acid esters, and glycidyl fatty acid esters, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), melamine and their structural analogues, naturally occurring plant toxins, perchlorate, and other contaminants are included in the Regulation. The Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Contaminants, which was issued in the Official Gazette on December 29, 2011, under the number 28157, shall be repealed with the adoption of the new Regulation. The new regulation will come in force from May, 2023.
