On 17 April 2026 European Chemicals Agency has issued detailed guidance on reporting requirements for synthetic polymer microparticles (SPM) under REACH Regulation, with the first deadline set for May 31, 2026. Companies must report annual emissions using IUCLID via REACH-IT, covering defined SPM criteria, phased obligations, and comprehensive data elements across uses and sectors. The framework emphasizes full reporting (no minimum threshold), structured emission estimation, and protection of confidential data while publishing aggregated results for transparency.
