Nigeria’s NAFDAC has officially recognized South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) as a reference agency for vaccines and medical devices. This recognition enables an expedited reliance pathway for MFDS-approved products, significantly reducing approval timelines and boosting the competitiveness of South Korean exporters. As part of MFDS’s larger regulatory diplomacy initiatives, this acknowledgment aligns with similar recognitions received from multiple countries. The move is expected to enhance trust, accelerate access to the Nigerian market, and open wider product export opportunities for South Korean companies targeting high-growth regions.
