The Secretariat of the Cosmetics Standardization Technical Committee under the National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC), China, issued a public notice inviting proposals for the 2025 cosmetics standards project plan. In line with China’s ongoing cosmetics regulatory framework enhancement, the call emphasizes four priority areas: (1) raw material standards, particularly those widely used or with identified safety risks; (2) management rules for prohibited, restricted, and permitted substances, especially aligned with international benchmarks; (3) urgently needed testing methods, either newly established or revised due to current method limitations; and (4) adaptation of mature international standards for domestic application. Relevant units must submit their proposals via the Cosmetics Standard Formulation and Revision Management System by May 25, 2025.
