The Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) has expressed strong support for the FDA’s recent decision to phase out animal testing for the development of monoclonal antibody therapies and other pharmaceuticals. PCPC agrees that animal models are outdated and inefficient and is calling on the FDA to extend this ban to cosmetics and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, including sunscreen.

PCPC and its member companies have long backed the Humane Cosmetics Act and continue to advocate for the FDA to adopt new approach methodologies (NAMs) that are scientifically advanced and human-relevant. The organization applauds the FDA's progress and commits to ongoing collaboration to promote safer and more innovative testing alternatives across the personal care sector.
