"China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued Proclamation No. 9, updating the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China under the Measures for the Environmental Management and Registration of New Chemical Substances (Order No. 12). This update includes the 13th batch (1st of 2025) of supplementary chemical substances now listed as existing in China. Few of the newly added substances include: 1) Butanoic acid, 2-hydroxy-4-(methylthio)- (CAS No. 583-91-5) 2) Diisopropyl xanthogen disulfide (Accelerator DIP) (CAS No. 105-65-7) 3) Dodecanedioic acid, ammonium salt (CAS No. 59864-79-8) 4) Triammonium citrate (CAS No. 3458-72-8) 5) 1-(Chloromethyl)-4-fluorobenzene (p-Fluorobenzyl chloride) (CAS No. 352-11-4) In addition to new additions, the 15th batch (1st of 2025) includes previously registered new chemical substances now reclassified as existing. The update also covers the 1st batch of permitted use changes, adjusting the authorized applications for certain chemicals. These regulatory adjustments enhance oversight, promote safer use of chemicals already in circulation, and improve transparency in China’s chemical management framework."
