"On May 14, 2025, the Government of India, through the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, issued three Quality Control Amendment Orders under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. These amendments revise the effective dates of existing quality control mandates for key dye intermediates: H Acid (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025 (S.O. 2144(E)) – Effective from August 13, 2025. K Acid (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025 (S.O. 2145(E)) – Effective from May 13, 2026. Vinyl Sulphone (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025 (S.O. 2146(E)) – Effective from August 13, 2025. These changes were made in the public interest following consultations with the Bureau of Indian Standards. The amendment orders clarify the timelines for mandatory BIS compliance for these chemical substances used widely in the dye and textile sectors."
