Japan's Guidelines for Manufacturing Quantities and Products Using Class II Specified Chemical Substances

On March 28, 2025, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has been released "Guidelines for Manufacturing Quantities of Class II Specified Chemical Substances and Products Using Class II Specified Chemical Substances [2025 Edition]". This guideline provide instructions for submitting notification for those who manufacture or import class 2 specified chemical substances as per the law concerning the examination of chemical substances and regulation of their manufacture, etc. This document emphasize on important points to be noted when filling out the form, How to submit and fill out the notification form, How to submit a notification, How to fill out each form, person who must submit the notification form, items to be notified that require change notification, notification period and method. This document also listed the products for which notification of planned import quantity etc., is required when class II specified chemical substances. This guidance document is effective from April 01, 2025.
