On April 7, 2025, the World Trade Organization (WTO) circulated a notification submitted by the United Kingdom concerning a proposal to amend the Great Britain (GB) Mandatory Classification and Labelling (MCL) list. The purpose of this proposal is to introduce new and revised entries for the mandatory classification and labelling of 30 hazardous chemical substances. The comment by date is 60 days from the notification (i.e. June 6, 2025). Proposed date of entry into force: End of Q3 2025 (voluntary) – Q1 2028 (mandatory).

Some of proposed substances include:
1. Perboric acid and its variants – such as perboric acid, sodium salt; perboric acid, sodium salt, monohydrate; perboric acid (HBO(O₂)), sodium salt, monohydrate; sodium peroxoborate; sodium perborate.
2. Perboric acid derivatives – including perboric acid (H₃BO₂(O₂)), monosodium salt trihydrate; perboric acid, sodium salt, tetrahydrate; perboric acid (HBO(O₂)), sodium salt, tetrahydrate; sodium peroxoborate, hexahydrate.
3. Sodium peroxometaborate
4.1H-benzotriazole
5.Methyl-1H-benzotriazole
6. Sodium 3-(allyloxy)-2-hydroxypropanesulphonate
7. N,N’-methylenediacrylamide
8. Dibenzoyl peroxide; benzoyl peroxide
9. Copper
10. n-Hexane
