On March 5, 2025, ADM Animal Nutrition initiated a recall of specific pelleted cattle feed products distributed between January 16 and February 27, 2025, across Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Iowa, Georgia, and Ohio. The recall involves 33 lot numbers of products that may contain elevated levels of copper or deficient levels of zinc, posing potential health risks to cattle. Chronic copper toxicity can lead to symptoms such as anorexia, abdominal pain, depression, lethargy, diarrhea, and dehydration, while zinc deficiency may result in decreased feed intake, feed efficiency, and growth. No illnesses or deficiency impacts have been reported to date. The issue was identified during routine production checks, prompting the recall to prevent potential harm. Customers who have purchased the affected products are advised to stop using them immediately and return them to their distributor or directly to ADM. For more information, customers can contact ADM Animal Nutrition at 800-217-2007 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Central Time Monday through Friday.
