The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) has released a draft amendment to the “Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods”, now open for public consultation.
Key details:
The amendment proposes revisions and additions to maximum residue limits (MRLs) for certain pesticides in specified food products.
Updates are based on international risk assessments, Codex Alimentarius standards, and domestic monitoring data.
The revisions aim to enhance food safety and align Taiwan’s food control regulations with international practices. Stakeholders, including the public, industry, and related associations, are invited to submit comments during the public consultation period ending 22 July 2024.
