The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has mandated that all Food Business Operators (FBOs) whose licenses or registrations expired in FY 2024–25 must submit a Closure Report via the FoSCoS portal, confirming that no business activities are ongoing or stating if a new license has been obtained. Non-compliance may lead to penalties of up to ₹10 lakhs. Future expiries must also include reasons for non-renewal, and FBOs must keep their email records updated to receive official notifications.
